Itinerary
Day 1:
PUERTO NATALES – TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK
The journey begins in Puerto Natales, where the bus will leave towards Torres del Paine from our meeting point. The ride lasts more than two hours; however, it will stop briefly in Cerro Castillo. You will arrive at the Park rangers headquarters in Laguna Amarga at 4:30 pm. Here you will board the shuttle that will take you to the Refugio Torre Central. Introduction to our local guide and briefing for the activities in the next few days. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 2:
TREKKING TO MIRADOR BASE TORRES (13 km, 7-8 hours).
- Breakfast.
- The day will begin with a trek to Refugio El Chileno. On the road, you will enjoy the beauty of the surrounding lakes and the hanging glacier of Almirante Nieto Mount, at more than 8600 feet asl.
- When you arrive at the refugio, you can leave your bags and recover energy to go on with a 2 hours trek heading to one of the most spectacular places in the National Park: the Mirador Base Torres.
- Accommodation with full board at Refugio El Chileno (or the Torre Central according to the availability).
Day 3:
TREKKING REFUGIO EL CHILENO/REFUGIO LOS CUERNOS (11 km, 4 5hours)
- Breakfast.
- The trek goes on surrounding the Paine Massif, hikking up to the base of the Almirante Nieto Mount.
- When you leave the Refugio El Chileno, you will go over for 1,5 hour to get to the Atajo, trail towards Los Cuernos. In the route, you will see the local flora, the Nordenskjöld Lake and the hanging glaciers.
- After 4 or 5 hours walk, you will reach your destination, Los Cuernos, where you can take the best photographs.
- Accommodation with full board at Refugio Los Cuernos.
Day 4:
TREKKING TO FRENCH VALLEY-PEHOE (25.3 km, 10-12 hours).
- Today we will go and hike 25 km, so start at 8:00 AM is recommended.For one and half hours we go for a soft trek, having a beautiful view of the Nordenskjöld Lake.
- One photographs stop at Campamento Italiano then we go for a 1,5 hours uphill trek on the French River Valley heading to the French Glacier Viewpoint.
- We go on to the Británico Viewpoint, where you will see the most impressive scenarios of the different peaks seen from the other side while on your way to the Park: Paine Grande, Catedral, Aleta de Tiburón and of course the impressive Cuerno Norte.
- Time to start our way back downhills enjoying the views of Pehoé lake, where our Refugio Paine Grande is going to be.
- Accommodation with full board at Refugio Paine Grande.
Day 5:
TREKKING TO GLACIER GREY (22 km, 8-9 hours) /BACK TO PUERTO NATALES
Early breakfast and another great 1.5 hours walk to enjoy the magnificent Glacier Grey Viewpoint with views of the Cordón Olguín and Témpanos.
We head back to Pehoé where our refuge and belongins and at 6:30 pm, we take the catamaran back to Pudeto where the regular buses back to Puerto Natales are. Time to be back in Puerto Natales: 10 PM
